SUMMER CAMPS
MCAT Media camps provides participants with opportunities to explore their creativity with video animation, live-action or, new this year, documentary video making. Kids will learn computer skills, camera techniques, storyboarding and video special effects. MCAT has a wide selection of video play materials including Legos, puppets, dry erase boards, drawing materials, costumes and studio lighting but participants are welcome to bring their own props as needed.
All camps are $225 and will run from 10am-4pm and are geared towards girls and boys ages 8-14 (with the exception of Horror Camp ages 14+). Scholarships are available upon request by emailing mcat@mcat.org.
Movie Camp – Full
July 6-10, 2026
Learn how to make live-action movies and editing in this easy to pick up and learn media camp. Snacks are provided and we will have a screening party on the last day for parents, friends, caregivers, and relatives.

Documentary Camp
July 20-24, 2026
Tell a story through a video documentary! Learn how to create a documentary using natural world subjects. This documentary media adventure brings campers into contacts with “Raptors of the Rockies” a non-profit raptor education project just outside of Missoula. Run by Kate Davis, the facility will allow campers to study owls, eagles, hawks and falcons and create short documentary about one of the birds that Kate Davis lives with at the ranch.
Stop Animation Camp – FULL
July 13-27, 2026
This camp provides kids with opportunities to explore animation using Legos or drawings. Kids can work alone or in groups and learn computer skills, camera techniques and special effects like green screen. MCAT has a wide selection of video play materials including Legos, puppets, dry erase boards, drawing materials and studio lighting. Snacks are provided and each camp will have a screening party on the last day for parents, friends, caregivers, and relatives.

Horror Movie-Making Camp
August 10-14, 2026
This camp is geared towards older kids (ages 14+) or those who have attended previous MCAT camps. This annual camp gives a more professional approach to video making. Snacks are provided and we will have a screening party on the last day for parents, friends, caregivers, and relatives.
